OVERVIEW

LOCATION

Strategic opportunity in 2 exploration blocks targeting some of the most prospective petroleum resources in Tajikistan part of the Fergana Basin – Central Asia’s first petroleum producing basin.

First oil field (Mailisai) in the Fergana Basin was discovered in 1901 and is in production since 1902 to present. Resource potential for the Fergana Basin is 4 bn bbls (EIA, USGS), of which 75% is yet to be discovered. It is a proven petroleum system. Each anticline mapped on surface and drilled later resulted in a discovery of petroleum (see picture below).

PSA effective as of July 7, 2012 – covers Somon Licences which were granted earlier.

EXPLORATION LICENCES ARE IN ORDER

Initial exploration period of licences is valid until July 25, 2017 (for Zapadnyi / West License) and until July 28, 2016 (for Severo-Zapadnyi / North West Licence). Extension of initial exploration period of each Licence is possible. Production period of up-to 30 years, which can be extended for two 5 year terms.

STATUS OF OPERATIONS

Somon has completed 1'310 km of 2D seismic data and has identified several drillable prospects and leads.

Three drill ready prospects; first spud planned at the end of the 4th Quarter 2015.
